Root Canals

Simply put you would have a large hole with some black color may be brown on your tooth. you should have sever pain that lasts more than 10 seconds and lingers. This is how you know you need a root canal therapy or an emergency dental treatment. This happens when a cavity has reached the pulp of your tooth where all blood vessels and vital structures are located. When cavity reaches your pulp and the nerves, your tooth becomes very sensitive and irritated by food, drink and hot or cold temperatures.

Slightest temperature change could trigger a lingering pain. Or even food on chewing. My recommendation is when you feel you have some sensitivity but it is not too much and it is not lingering see your dentist right away. At that time a simple filling could remedy your problem. If you end up with a root canal therapy then you need to do a filling and a crown after as well.

Due to large cavities and fractures, the a tooth’s pulp may be showing and the tissue may have contamination leading to an infection. Leaving the pulp in exposure can cause severe pain to the person. In these cases, the treatment is usually root canal treatment or extraction. Your dentist can explain the exact reason for damage to this tissue, and what is recommended.
